My Forever Contract

By Helene Cser:

As I continue to learn more about real estate and contracts, I wanted to share with you my recent forever contract entered into with my husband Michael Fulton.  I was married in Jamaica on March 5th and had a lovely wedding and honeymoon in the Caribbean.  Not once was I interrupted from work, nor did I feel that I would be as I am part of a highly functioning team and knew that everything would be handled.

You hear the buzzword work life balance a lot in the professional industry as something that is desired from employers.  I think what is often overlooked is how to achieve this successfully and I feel that a lot of it depends on forming strong and healthy relationships both professionally and personally.  When I was being interviewed by my current employer, Scythe & Spade Company, I was very attracted to the company culture and leadership.  In order to achieve work life balance it is important that your values align both with the company and your personal life.

Scythe & Spade Company Core Values

SYNERGY:  The combined effect of individuals in collaboration that exceeds the sum of their individual effects.  Synergy is better than my way or your way, It's our way.
INSIGHTFUL:  We embrace and pursue the unexpected shifts in the way we and others understand things.  We look for; Connections, Contradictions and Creative Desperation.
AGILE:  Agility is the ability to see, adapt and respond to change or opportunity, responsively.
CONTRARIAN:  We have the instincts to go against the grain of officially accredited views - especially those accredited within our own circle of progressive thinkers.  We challenge the Status Quo.
ACCOUNTABLE:  Be where you say you'll be, be there when you say you'll be there and be doing what you said you would be doing.  On time every time, exactly as promised.
RESPONSIVE:  We initiate interactions both internally and externally quickly, exceeding expectations while creating barriers to competition.
CONSTANT IMPROVEMENT:  Constant Improvement is better than delayed perfection.  Things can always get better and are never complete. Improve everything you touch.

Having core values and strong leadership from the team allowed me to improve on my personal and professional soft skills.  I strive to constantly improve on how I interact with others and place great value on developing strong and healthy relationships.  As I begin my future with the love of my life, I know that to have a successful marriage we will have to work as a team and hold our vows dear and true to our hearts.  I value my husband’s leadership and will assist him in whatever endeavors come our way and continue to love, honor, and respect him.  I am very blessed to have found my missing piece or better half.

Matthew 19:6

“So they are no longer two but one flesh.  What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
